So once again I find it has been forever since I updated. Since then quite a lot has happened. Like it normally does when time passes. I know! What a shocker!
Lets start off with the basics. I hate decisions. The End.
So I really wish I could just end there, but this would make this the most meaningless post ever! (Which is saying something when you think about some of my other ones). Basically, I am bored and sitting in bed because I am sick (again), and I am in the throes of despair because I lost one half of one of my favorite pair of earrings ever! (They are from Tibet and randomly match this one shirt I have perfectly).
Let's talk about decisions again. I hate them. Really I just hate serious ones. Though the other day it took me 20 minutes to decide which cookie dough to buy at the store. Anyways, this semester is going to be full of tough choices. For example, I have a grand total of six classes left to take before I can graduate. This is a very scary thing. I should probably be looking at internships right now, but being a grown-up scares me.
Ah being a grown-up. I alternate between feeling like a child and a responsible adult. Not really so much the last one as just feeling old. My brother has a girlfriend and can drive. That makes me feel old! Yet, I still call my mom and dad when I need help. Which, let's face it, I need a lot. Though, now that I have a job I don't like to spend money. I like to save it. Which is what I did as a child too actually. Unlike my brother who immediately spent his allowance, I realized you could buy more expensive things if you had more money.
So another random thing is that I have realized that I am a really big history nerd. This really shouldn't surprise me since half of my books are historical fiction but it does. I just spent and hour and a half watching the history channel instead of this chick flick that I watched during commercial that was really good. (Note to self: rent the movie later). Though I admit I was really riveted because it talked a lot about my favorite city ever! Berlin!
So I'm pretty sure I could have ended this post earlier because most of what I said was meaningless drivel. On the bright side, I have staved off boredom for a little bit longer!
The End. (for reals)
(Edit: My wonderful, amazing roommate has located my earring since this has been posted! Yay!)

Sea Ottters
Okay, so it has been awhile since I last posted. So this is just going to be a random post with random thing (so basically just like normal except I am acknowledging the fact for once).
1) Let's begin with the meaning behind the title. Sea otters happen to be my favorite animal. Yes I know that that is also unusual. If I could be any animal I would also want to be a sea otter. They are cute and playful. They can swim and yet still live on land. The perfect combination.
2) I can now shoot a gun. In fact, I am better than my sister. This was proven by a little white paper plate that I hit six times and she hit five times. I won. She also still owes me two dollars.
3) I have been sick for almost 4 weeks. First my throat, then a cold, then a cough, and now back to a cold. It is not very fun. I would advise against repeating my experiences.
4)I have two, no three secret dreams. One would to become a princess. The second would be to be a super spy. The last would be to be sucked into some other world like they do in Narnia. I would be scared out of my mind, but it's cool to think about. Obviously the chances of any of these things happening are very slim unless I find a genie in a bottle.
5) I am a freak, and I love the cold and snow. The list of things I love about winter is very VERY long. I love the clothes, the snow, the music, the hot chocolate, the treats, the feeling of being all bundled up and warm, and the list goes on and on. I have realized that most people do not agree with my sentiments, but I have learned to live with this fact, ignore them, and revel in the cold and snow.

Firsts
So I was doing really good for while at updating. Then life happened, and there went that.
This semester has been a semester of many firsts for me. This past week I stayed in the library until the last possible minute when they kicked me out for the very first time ever. This was the result of the fact that my printer is sick, and I have not had time to fix its relationship with my computer. This is also the first semester I have had and 8 o'clock class 4 days of the week. I have also had my first purposeful hour long nap on campus. I have fallen asleep by accident before for a short time, but I this week I purposely took a full-out hour long nap for the first time in a wonderful comfy chair. This was the result of 3 hours of sleep, plus a week of 5 or 6 hour nights, while being sick. This brings us to another first. I watched my first midnight premiere of a movie with my wonderful aunt Nicole. This led to the 3 hours of sleep, which I do not regret. Especially since I took 4 1/2 hours worth of naps the next day.
I've also experience many emotional firsts this semester, which I will not go into here. The result is that I have discovered that I have weird reaction to huge amounts of stress. I don't want any form of sugar when I am way stressed. While this is a good thing, it is also really weird because we all know I have a very strong attachment to any form of sugar.
This is year I have also planned very well for Christmas presents. I am half done, and it is not even Thanksgiving yet! I was tired of having to make last minute purchases for the past two years because of finals being right before break.
The lesson is that I have learned is that I can survive anything. I might not think it is possible, but I know that I will survive and be better for it. So just remember to smile, and whoever you are you are loved very much by our Heavenly Father!

A Tropical Paradise
So my lifelong dream is to move to Fiji. As many people know, whenever I get stressed with life I say that I am moving to Fiji. Those who have heard me say it always ask me where it comes from. The truth is I once read a book where the character did the same thing, except she always said she was moving to Guam. Well, I liked the sound of Fiji better.
The more I think about it the more I like the idea of moving to Fiji. The only problem is that it never snows. I would be able to go scuba diving which kinda makes up for it. Fiji (for those unfortunate people who have no clue where it is) is located in the South Pacific Ocean near Tonga, Samoa, and New Caledonia. According my sources it is 2000km northeast of New Zealand's North Island. Its national sport is rugby. It has coral reefs and is absolutely gorgeous! Best news is that they have an underwater hotel!
Basically it is my dream to go to Fiji. Particularly if I am feeling stressed. One day I will have enough money and will randomly fly to Fiji for a week. So really I am quite serious when I say. I'm quitting and moving to Fiji!

'What Matters Most'
Just a little reminder to take the time to slow down and take time for what is truly important.

Ich vermisse Deutschland!
I miss Germany. . .a lot. I've been home for 2 1/2 months and, as you noticed, I have not made a blog post until now because my blog reminds me of Germany. It makes me sad. I miss the chocolate, the greenness that does not exist in Provo, the weekend trips, my friends, easy classes, museums, trains, and the list goes on and on. I wanted so desperately to be home half the time I was there. Now I wish that I could go back. If I could go to school there again I would be a happy camper.
Now enough with the sadness! I am going to move on to happier things. . .like procrastination!! I am going for the world championships this year. Right now I have quite a lot of things that I should be doing. Oddly enough they aren't getting done right now. I have yet to figure out how to multi-task and write several papers at once. Funny ain't it? I keep getting distracted. Life is definitely very busy this year. I added a job onto my plate (at the BYU Creamery on Ninth!), which makes for a busy schedule. Then you add in a boy and life just gets more busy and wonderful if that is possible!
Anyways, I have procrastinated long enough and need to get back to my first paper of the week!
Tschüss meine Freunde!!

Adventures
So I have come to several realizations over the course of my study abroad. One is that I am just as bad at keeping my blog updated as I am at writing in my journal. So I figured I would make up for it and post several pictures at once. I decided to pick a picture from each of the cities I have visited outside of Berlin.
First up is Stettin, Poland. It is right over the border and is a beautiful city. My aunt Marzena grew up there. Sadly, the weather did not cooperate. It was VERY rainy and VERY cold. We survived and enjoyed looking at the old buildings.
Next up is Lübeck in Northern Germany by the sea. It was the capital of the Hanseatic League. Don't bother asking me what that is, just go look it up on wikipedia. They do a better job of explaining it. Anways, we looked at a bunch of old buildings. Walked through this old gate that was leaning to one side. Later, my friends and I found a playground, so we played on it. It was definitely way fun, and of course, it rained for the first part of the day.
So Lübeck was on a Saturday, and the next Monday we visited Potsdam, which is right below Berlin. We had Monday off because there was a random German holiday that no one could tell me why we had off. Anyways, we saw a bunch of palaces, but we didn't go in them because we are poor college students (who have enough money to go to Europe, oh the irony). Of course, it rained then too (sensing a pattern yet?). We still had fun walking through the giant park and finding all the random little palaces.
Then came Prague. i was so excited to revisit one of my favorite cities. The food is amazing! The money is very cool-looking but very confusing. I felt rich because everything I was buying was in the hundreds. I definitely grew closer to the girls on the trip. My favorite part was when we found this little playground on top of a hill overlooking Prague, while we were on our way up to what looks like a miniature Eiffel Tower (only 299 steps!).
Dr. Kelling, my professor, is the most wonderful man. He took us all to Schwerin, his hometown, one Saturday. We all loved the trip because he was so excited to show us everything. We all got to go on a boat ride and go through the palace. It was Schwerin's 800th birthday (I think all I know is that it is really old) so there was a festival going on.
Last but not least is Milan, Italy! So we found some really cheap flights and a really cheap hostel, and the result was that 6 of us flew to Milan for the weekend. I love Italians. They are way nice. So our first night we basically got completely lost finding our way back to the hostel. So we asked the bus driver if we were going the right direction. He didn't speak very much English. Luckily, a guy on the bus translated for us. We were on the wrong bus, so they told us where to go. We get off and are totally confused, but we just cross the street and then try to figure out where the other bus stop is. We hear a noise and turn around to find most of the people on the bus with their windows opening pointing us in the right direction. We felt like we belonged in a movie scene. Anyways, that was a long story. Basically, Milan was wonderful and full of delicious food, shopping, and gelato!
